After switching out or creating 10 new mods for your robot, you will unlock:īack to the task at hand. Have some fun designing and building your own robot, although keep in mind that the perks Blacksmith, Science!, and Robotics Expert will definitely come in handy as you craft some of the more advanced components. First transfer all the robot mods you collected earlier to the Robot Workbench, and then opt to create a new automatron. This will bring an end to A New Threat, but before we continue on, let's build ourselves a new robot! Side note: we can simply select Ada and change her color 10 times to unlock the next achievement quickly, but building your own robot is much more fun. Speak with Ada again, and after a short conversation, she'll ask you to hunt down another Robobrain for a second Radio Beacon. Do so, then navigate to Special, and select the Radar Beacon. When you operate the Robot Workbench, you'll have the option to select Ada. Once built, speak with Ada again to go ahead with the plan. Assuming you agree to this risky proposal, and why wouldn't you, head out of the Factory and back to your settlement of choice to build the Robot Workbench. Speak with Ada and she'll suggest implanting the device in her to help you track down the Mechanist. Once you've defeated the Robobrain, loot its remains to retrieve the Mechanist Device. Behind these doors are a final few robots, including our target enemy, the Quantum Robobrain. Continue through the building, first through a novice locked door (or the hole in the wall above it), and then to another set of doors with a security terminal (on the middle floor). You'll see a copy of Tesla Science on one of the desks. Head up the stairs at the back of the room you first enter, and then head into the large office room on the next floor. There is a perk magazine early on in the building that you'll want to grab. They only weigh 0.5 each, and remember you can always pass them on to Ada or your companion. Grab as many of these as possible, as this will help unlock a ton of different modding options once you build the Robot Workshop, and will help with a couple of achievements. Note: starting with these enemy robots, you will begin to find different robot mods when looting them. Enter through the front doors and begin to explore the factory. Travel to whatever map marker is closest, and head on over to the factory. You'll find this in South Boston, not far from The Castle or Four Leaf Fishpacking Plant. This quest will have begun automatically at the conclusion of the last, and has you tasked with investigating the General Atomics Factory. This will let you build your very own robots. You'll now have Ada available as a companion (if not already on board), and you can also now build the Robot Workbench at your settlements. You can accept her company, or go solo, but either way, the end of this conversation will wrap up the quest and unlock the following achievement: She'll offer to accompany you to the General Atomics Factory, which she suspects might offer some clues as to the source of these robots. The caravan owner was killed, and now Ada is looking to track down and defeat the Mechanist, who she suspects is behind the new influx of robots across the Commonwealth. Speak with her/it, and she'll explain what went down. You'll come across a fight among a number of different robots, so jump in and wipe out any robot marked as an enemy. The map marker will send you northwest of Bunker Hill, so fast travel to whatever is closest, and head from there. After listening to the message, your quest objective will be to find the caravan that put out the distress signal. You'll receive a new quest automatically stating that you've picked up a new distress call, called "Caravan Distress Frequency".
